Frequently asked questions

Everything businesses ask before launching a digital loyalty card: how it works, what customers need, pricing, your team and privacy.

Getting started

What is Panaloyal?

A platform for local businesses to create their own digital stamp card. Customers save it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, your team stamps it by scanning a QR code, and you see from the dashboard who comes back and when. It was born in Panama and is built for Latin American businesses.

How do I create my loyalty card?

Create your account, pick a template for your type of business and adjust colors, logo, stamps and rewards with a live preview. When you finish you get a QR code and a link ready to share. See everything included in features.

How long does setup take?

Most businesses have their card ready in a few minutes. You don't need technical skills or a developer.

Do I need to buy any hardware?

No. To stamp cards you only need a phone, tablet or computer with a camera and internet. No terminals, readers or special printers.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. You get a 14-day free trial with every feature of your plan. A card is required to start the trial, and if you cancel before it ends you won't be charged. Details on plans and pricing.

Which countries does it work in?

Any country where your customers use an iPhone or Android. Panaloyal is available in Spanish and English and is used by businesses in Panama and across Latin America. We have country guides under countries.

Stamp cards

How does a digital stamp card work?

Customers scan your QR code and save the card on their phone. On each visit your team scans their card and adds a stamp. When they reach the goal, the reward is ready to redeem.

How many stamps should I require for a reward?

It depends on how often customers come back: if they visit several times a week, 8 to 10 stamps work well; if they come once a month, 4 to 6 is better. The reward has to feel reachable. We explain it in how to choose the perfect reward.

Can I give rewards at different stamps?

Yes. You can add several rewards to the same card, for example a small gift at stamp 5 and the big reward at 10, so the goal never feels far away.

Can I change the card after creating it?

Yes. From the dashboard you can edit the design, text and rewards, and customers see the changes in their Wallet without signing up again.

Can I have multiple cards?

Yes, for example one for coffee and another for breakfast. How many active cards each plan includes is on the pricing page.

What happens when a customer completes the card?

They get a notice that their reward is ready. When they claim it, your cashier records the redemption from the scanner and the customer can start collecting stamps again.

Do stamps expire?

You decide. Keep the card with no expiration or set how long stamps last, depending on how your business works.

Apple Wallet and Google Wallet

Do my customers have to download an app?

No. The card is saved to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, which already come with the phone, right next to their bank cards. That's the main reason customers actually use it.

How do customers add the card to their phone?

They scan the QR code at your counter or tap the link you share on WhatsApp or social media, fill in a short form and save it in one tap.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. On iPhone it's saved to Apple Wallet and on Android to Google Wallet. The sign-up detects the customer's phone and shows the right button.

What if a customer doesn't use Wallet?

They can open their card in the browser and add it to the home screen like an app, without downloading anything from a store.

What if a customer changes or loses their phone?

Their stamps aren't lost: they're stored in Panaloyal, not on the phone. They just sign up again with the same details and get their card back with its stamps.

Can a card be copied or shared?

Each card is unique and has its own QR code. If someone tries to sign up twice with the same details, Panaloyal detects it and returns their existing card.

Notifications and campaigns

How do messages reach my customers?

As a lock-screen notification, through the card they have in their Wallet. For campaigns you can also use email if the customer shared it.

Do I need my customers' phone numbers?

No. Notifications travel through the Wallet card, so you don't depend on phone numbers, SMS or WhatsApp lists.

Which automated messages can I turn on?

Welcome on sign-up, a heads-up when they're close to a reward, reward ready, "we miss you" when they stop coming, a post-visit message and birthdays. Set them up once and they run on their own.

How many campaigns can I send?

It depends on your plan. See how many each one includes on the pricing page.

How is this different from bulk SMS or WhatsApp?

You don't pay per message, you don't need to collect numbers and you don't risk getting your WhatsApp blocked for spam. The message also shows next to the customer's card, so they know exactly who it's from.

Which messages work best?

The ones that give a reason to come back today: double stamps on slow days, "one stamp to go" or a gift for someone who hasn't come in weeks. Ideas in how to win back inactive customers.

Scanner, team and locations

How does my team stamp cards?

They open the Panaloyal scanner on their phone, scan the customer's card QR code or search by name or phone, and tap to add the stamp. It takes seconds.

Do I need internet to stamp?

Yes, a basic mobile data or Wi-Fi connection so the stamp is recorded and the customer's card updates right away.

Can I give my cashiers access?

Yes. Each cashier or manager has their own user, so you don't share your password and you know who stamped each time. How many logins each plan includes is on pricing.

Does it work with multiple locations?

Yes. Add your locations, customers use the same card at all of them and you see each location's results separately.

How do I prevent extra stamps?

Panaloyal blocks repeated stamps within a short time and records who stamped, when and at which location, so you can review anything unusual.

How do I display the QR code in my store?

Download your QR code as a PDF from the dashboard, ready to print for the counter, table or window. You can also share the link on WhatsApp and social media.

Pricing and plans

How much does Panaloyal cost?

It depends on how many cards, customers, campaigns and locations you need. Prices can change, so they're always up to date on the pricing page.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, 14 days free on any plan. If you cancel before the trial ends, you won't be charged.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There are no contracts or penalties: cancel from your dashboard and keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.

Can I pay yearly?

Yes. Choose monthly or yearly billing; yearly comes with a discount. Compare both on plans and pricing.

What if my business grows?

Switch plans anytime to get more cards, customers, cashiers or locations, without losing your customers or their stamps.

How can I pay?

With a credit or debit card. You're billed monthly or yearly depending on the plan you choose.

For your customers

How do my customers get the card?

By scanning your QR code in store or tapping your link on Instagram, WhatsApp, Google or your business page.

How do they check how many stamps they have?

They open their Wallet and the card is there with up-to-date stamps. It updates itself after every visit.

What details do they fill in to sign up?

Whatever you choose: for example name, phone, email and birthday. The shorter the form, the more people sign up.

Can they stop receiving messages?

Yes. Customers can unsubscribe from emails or remove the card from their Wallet anytime. Respecting that keeps your program healthy.

By type of business

Does it work for coffee shops?

It's one of the most common uses: customers come back often and a free coffee is a clear reward. See the coffee shop guide.

What about barbershops and beauty salons?

Yes. Since visits are every few weeks, short goals work well, along with an automatic reminder when a customer takes too long to come back. Ideas in the barbershop guide.

Does it work for restaurants?

Yes, to reward regulars: a dessert, a drink or a free dish after several visits. More in the restaurant guide.

Which other businesses use it?

Any business with returning customers: bakeries, ice cream shops, gyms, laundromats, stores, pharmacies and more. Explore the business categories.

Comparisons

Why a digital card instead of a paper one?

Paper cards get lost, left in another wallet and faked with any stamp. A digital card is always on the phone, can't be copied and tells you who comes back. We compare them in digital vs. traditional.

Why not build my own app?

An app costs thousands to build and maintain, and most people don't download an app for every business they visit. With Wallet you reach the same phone without asking anyone to install anything.

How is Panaloyal different from Almendro, Stamp Me or other platforms?

Several platforms use Apple Wallet and Google Wallet; the difference is what's included and the support you get. Panaloyal adds push and email campaigns, birthdays, cashier logins, multiple locations, retention metrics and a business page, with Spanish-speaking support from Panama. Compare features, not just price; read how to compare loyalty programs and Stamp Me vs. Panaloyal.

What if I already have points in my POS?

Panaloyal works on its own, without changing your POS or buying hardware, and customers see their progress on their phone. If you need to connect it to other systems, check API availability on plans and pricing.

Privacy and security

What data does Panaloyal store?

The fields you ask for at sign-up, stamps, visits and redemptions, and the permissions customers gave to receive messages. Nothing else.

Who owns my customers' data?

Your business does. You can see it in the dashboard and export it to CSV anytime.

How is data protected?

It travels encrypted, each business can only see its own customers and your cashiers only access what their role allows.

Does it comply with data protection law?

We handle data under Panama's Personal Data Protection Law 81. Details are in our privacy policy.

Can a customer ask for their data to be deleted?

Yes. The business can delete the customer from the dashboard, or the customer can write to us to request it.

Didn't find your answer?

Write to us and we'll help you set up your loyalty program, no strings attached.
